New Bern - Greenbrier
Greenbrier is one of the premier subdivisions in New Bern, NC. It's appeal comes from its large beautiful treed properties, its close proximity to all amenities, and its friendly residents.
Most of its approximately 660 homes are in the 1800 - 4000 square foot range and are built on large lots. Many of these homes are either on golf course lots, back up to wooded areas, are on small ponds, or are in quiet cul-de-sacs. There is also a section of smaller patio homes (many built on golf course lots) and a few beautiful town homes across from the clubhouse.
Greenbrier is home to the award winning Emerald Golf Club. This 18 hole Championship Golf course was designed by Rees Jones and made Golf Weekly's list of the top 50 Golf Courses in the Southeast. The Emerald has a junior olympic sized swimming pool, lighted tennis courts, a deli and bar, and social activities throughout the year. Membership is optional for Greenbrier residents and there are many different levels of membership available, including golf or social memberships which include swimming and tennis.
Greenbrier is "near it all"; food, shopping, specialty stores, restaurants, post office, state of the art hospital, every medical specialist imaginable, Craven Community College, easy access to Routes 17 and 70 and only a five minute drive to Downtown Historic New Bern and all it has to offer. The area has some of the best boating on the East coast and has consistently made BoatUS Magazine and other boating magazines top 10 list for power and sail boaters and a great place to retire!
Want to go to the beach? Atlantic Beach is less than an hour away. Sail down the Neuse River to Oriental and into the Pamlico Sound. It is a true boaters Paradise!
